    I Made a … 1940s Sun Dress | 2 in 1 Pinafore McCall’s 7475

    February 9, 2021 /

My 1940s sun dress has proved to be the perfect all year vintage dress as it doubles up as a pinafore too! I made this using the vintage pattern McCall’s 7475* during the summer, but have found that I get more wear out of it now that I can layer it over a shirt.

    I Made a … 1950s Vintage Dress – From a Vintage Sewing Pattern Simplicity 3274 – Part One

    July 21, 2020 /

My latest vintage sewing project is a 1950s vintage dress. I used a vintage pattern that I bought from Wave of Nostalgia in Haworth; Simplicity 3274. I wanted to try and create a really authentic feel for this dress by using vintage fabric, notions and techniques. This post details the making of the bodice. The making of the skirt will follow in my next post.

    I Made A … 1950s Slip – Vintage Sewing Pattern

    April 25, 2020 /

A slip is a vintage wardrobe staple that has been sadly lacking from my vintage wardrobe for some time. With the UK in lockdown, I decided to make the most of my free time and fill a few gaps in my wardrobe.

This 1940s vintage dress is actually a modern reprint of a vintage sewing pattern. I have been collecting these types of pattern for years and I decided that it was finally time to actually make one and I chose this Butterick pattern from 1944 for my first Youtube project video.

    My Vintage Knitting Pattern Wishlist

    October 11, 2019 /

I am a huge lover of vintage knitting patterns. I am always on the look out in charity shops to see if I can snag an amazing vintage pattern, sometimes for as little as 10p!

But sometimes the easiest place to find a specific pattern or style that you want is via Pinterest. In fact I have a whole board of vintage knitting patterns that’s how much I love them. But I can get a little bit overwhelmed and distracted by all the amazing patterns and of course I don’t have time to knit them all.

So here is my vintage knitting pattern wish list. Hopefully this will give me some focus so I stop getting distracted and actually do some knitting!

    2018 Retro Round Up

    December 23, 2018 /

As the end of December approaches, as do my university deadlines, I thought I would make a little round up of my sewing year. I usually take time out of the online world during the Christmas period to enjoy time with friends and family, but before I do enjoy this final post of 2018.
